I am still not sure whether it was new year’s celebration or sheer frustration finding an escape out of our body Anyways , since it was not possible for any of us to plan something big for 31st , on the eve of our semester exam ( damn … why they had to schedule an exam on the very first day of year ??? …. ) , we celebrated the day ( infact the night )  in our own unique way .

Last night was as crazy as it could have possible been . It all started normally with few harmless eco-friendly bombs crackers being fired into the toposphere . The decibel level was magnified when buckets were used as a magnifier for the blast . As if it was not enough , few guys dragged into the scene an old cooler whose grass was scrutinized for its potential . After a while the crackers quota was finished , but matches were still in plenty . No points for guessing what happened next . All the potential inflammable objects were collected and a bonfire was made then and there inside the hostel .

And with this fire and angry slogans against management we burnt all our complaints , sorrow , hard feelings and frustration . lol … Symbology…. I am speaking like Robert Langdon . In the meantime , the unlucky ones who , apparently , finished off all their match sticks on cigarettes and were left spectating , too decided to join the movement  . They formed a ” tod – fod ” department and made sure that no sinks or tube-lights were left standing . Thanks god that this department was operational on ground floor only . That means we will not be fined for all the havoc . Come on , they can’t fine us for burning our own stuff .  :P     On the other hand , the accounts of the guys on ground floor were all set to be debited by quite some margin now .

The whole incident proved one thing for sure . We could be a lot better at management than engineering . Seriously , the entire movement was organized so quickly , no pre planning or any stuff like that . And how efficiently we managed the whole affair . Plus the best point . None of us was caught . When the warden  arrived , he was just greeted by the chilled air and the bits and pieces lying everywhere . No signs of anything living in the proximity . He stood there , gazing at the ashes . I feel he was hoping to see a phoenix rise from those ashes , so that he can lay the whole blame on him .

To sum up the things , our  “College Todo Andolan” …  “Give us a new State” movement …. New Year Celebrations was marked by broken windows , debris of once-I-was-a-cooler (who needs cooler in this cold) , destroyed tubelights , angry bookworms whom we obviously disturbed ( I feared that they might become witness against us but they were more human then I expected them to be ) and many more things whose pre-destruction identity could not be guessed .

Our new year started on a high note . Except Electronics students ( looks like the person who framed their paper held a personal grudge against the students ) everyone else had a pretty good start to 2010 . Wishing a very happy new year to all of you . Don’t do anything reckless . We were lucky , everyone is not .  ;)

P.S. To everyone from the computer field … today is a special date … 01.01.10 …. its our day … the day of 0’s and 1’s ….

P.P.S. 2012 is now even closer …. everyone , start the countdown ..!!!!
