And I thought we were living in a democracy . Whatever Mr. Shahrukh Khan said regarding the inclusion of Pakistani players in IPL might have appealed to some section and might not have to others . But the way Shiv Sena reacted to this was not at all called for . They didn’t like his speech ,  fair enough . But resorting to violence to bring down someone and forcing him to apologize , just to prove yourself right , is not justified by any means .

The point is that Shiv Sena doesn’t want to miss any opportunity to bring itself in the news and wave its “Maharashtra is for Marathi” banner . I still can’t find any solid reason behind interpreting Sachin’s words “I am first an Indian , and then a Marathi” to declare that he is not a true Marathi . Sachin Tendulkar is a national icon . And targeting a national icon guarantees a lot of media coverage , which is what Shiv Sena is after for .

What would happen if a party like Shiv Sena springs up in every state . Won’t our country be divided into a number of small parts . Then everyone will be confined to their own states and the entire country will be divided on the basis of caste , creed and religion . Shiv Sena is making sure that no stone is left unturned in its efforts to undo the development India has achieved in last six decades .

When someone justifies national integrity by saying that soldiers from all across the country fought for the people during the Taj incident , they interpret it as a disrespect to the Marathi martyrs . When Rahul Gandhi uses an ATM in Mumbai , they say that for people from Delhi , Mumbai is nothing more than a money drawing machine .

Shiv Sena has seriously lost it . The loss in elections have affected them seriously . They think that they own the State and they can regulate all its affairs . And the thing that is surprising is that they are doing it  . They are regulating its affairs , doing whatever they feel like , and the State Government is not doing a bit to prevent it . Government is doing what it knows the  best , and that is , giving assurances and making promises .  Something is seriously wrong and whatever it might be , it  needs to be changed as soon as possible .
