And finally the long lasting silence breaks. And finally the thrust gave in. And finally the threshold was crossed.

Anna Hazare is the buzzword everywhere you go. From the streets to TV sets to social networks. From the farmers to the common man to business tycoons. From a Bill to a Cause to a Ray of Hope. More than Anna Hazare, people are supporting the cause that he is fighting for. People are supporting this fight against corruption that has been launched. People are supporting the ray of hope that Lokpal is offering to him.

I am still not completely convinced how effective this Lokpal Bill would be, and why should we not believe that like each and every sector in the society, the Lokpal will also be eaten up by the termite of Corruption. Many arguments and counter arguments can be seen flying like bullets everywhere. The digital space is occupied by the chain messages. Anna Hazare has been termed the reincarnation of Gandhi by few and anyone who is not found re-posting a certain status message on facebook is safely tagged as a traitor. I find this really ridiculous. Extremism is never an ideal way of going about things. Some amount of sense need to be brought in, for sure.

On the other hand I see people who are safely stereotyping the support for the bill as “Bhedchaal”. Look from the point of view of a common man. From the birth when he first encountered the word “donation” to get an admission into a good school to the RTO office where he needs to “buy” his license right to his first job which also doesn’t come without a reference letter or a reference “currency”. And the thing doesn’t stop here. Right from the top of the ladder to the bottom of pyramid, Corruption is the most frequent custom here. So is this wrong on the part of the person who thinks that Lokpal Bill would help him get his son a good future? Is this person wrong who thinks that the Lokpal Bill will prevent some Babu from drawing in the hard earned money from his pocket? … I don’t think so.

I am still not sure about the implication, the outcome and the effectiveness. But at least something is being done and the massive support that Anna Hazare has accumulated will at least make one thing sure. Once this Bill is passed, at least it will be in the back of mind of a person who is involved in an illegal practice. And the corruption level would be brought down for sure (only if it is to a very minimal level .. Well something is better than nothing isn’t it?? ). By the way, UPA is almost done with. But who is next? God only knows.

In the meantime, Lokpal Bill has done a huge favor for Indian Cricket Team. The attention is completely diverted from the Men In Blue whose houses would have otherwise have been attacked and dummies be burnt by the same cricket fans who put them next to God once they brought in the World Cup. India never looked so helpless like they are looking now. They have absolutely no idea what is going on there. I believe MSD and his men must be praying for the series to get over as soon as possible. Indra Dev is the only hope that could save them from a humiliating whitewash at the hand of the British. Something seems to be desperately wrong with Indian Cricket Team and it’s high time the problem be found and solved. Or else …… They know better than me what would be scenario otherwise. The worst thing that could happen to them is that IPL would be blamed for downfall of Test cricket and hence, the biggest money making industry in the country (after corruption) would be doomed. And in the current economic crisis that would be the last thing BCCI would want :P :P

Enough of Gyan for the time being. Let me come to this demon which has suddenly struck me with a full throttle. THE CUMULATION OF BACKLOGS. Suddenly everything from CV submission to he exams to the summer placements has closed in. Deadlines are a lot closer than they appear to be, that is for sure. And here I ( or should I say we ) find myself completely unprepared to handle this attack. But wait a minute. I happen to have a degree with me which says “Bachelor Of Technology”. In short, I am an engineer and there are few things that this four years of boozing, dilly-dallying and partying hardwork and dedication has taught me for sure. And one of those thing is to handle such situation ( I am a pro in doing this you see ). Resourceful bunch of guys we are. 11th hour is too early for us ;) :P

In the end I would like to leave you all with this pie chart which, effectively depicts the subjects which occupy my wall and timeline all the while nowadays ( Did I tell you that I have a subject name “Biz Statistics” in the first module?? ) :P :P … Adios Amigos… Keep cribbing, Keep complaining and Keep revolting … Oh yeah … Keep Commenting too ;) ;)

So once again , Cricket seems to capture the limelight all across the country . Not because India defeated Lanka in an important encounter . Not because India managed to gain a bonus point . But because of this latest controversy which has been trending all over the headlines for the past two days now .

The “no-ball” fiasco has achieved a lot more of attention than it deserved . Or is it ??? … There is no point denying that the no ball bowled by Suraj Randiv was deliberate . Dilshan incited him to do so and none of the Sri Lankans cared to put a check on this ( It’s ironical that they have been winning “Spirit of The Game” award for two consecutive years now … I assure you they won’t win a third one in a row :P ) …… Agreed that everything was done within the rules . Agreed that Indian won in the end , and that’s what matters the most . Agreed that the whole drama was “a bit” hyped . But one thing that has surely come out of this incident is that cricket is far from being called the “Gentleman’s game” anymore …..

This might have been an impulsive decision on the part of Randiv . But the shame that it has brought upon Lankans’ face is irrevocable . Plus Randiv’s suspension and Dilshan being penalized have put a stamp on the fact that Lankan Board has accepted that it was all too deliberate . The apology won’t bring back a well deserved century for Sehwag . But the whole issue is a lot more than Sehwag’s century .

This “childish” act has , for sure , got most of the Indian fans fuming . What’s more surprising is the argument Sangakkara has come up with in his latest press conference . According to Mr. Sangakkara , the issue should not have been sensationalized as much as it was and it’s the responsibility of both the teams to keep up with the spirit of the game . Now just hold on . This guy is now blaming Indian side for not holding up with the spirit of the game . That’s just plain ridiculous . First you commit a mistake and then you blame others for pointing out that mistake . Sangakkara needs to take some time out to gather his thoughts . He seems to be devoid of any rationality right now .

Damage has been done . Not Sehwag … Not Randiv … Not Dilshan … But Cricket has been the ultimate loser in this whole fiasco . Now the best that could be done is to leave the issue right where it is now and move on . Sri Lanka is already ashamed by this whole incident . A livid Sehwag should calm down and focus on the next game and a baffled Sangakkara should stop playing the blame game that he has resorted to of late … This has shown us one of the many “loopholes” that still exist in the rules … Lets see if ICC does anything about it …

Now to think of it , I have highlighted all the important components of this incident … and I have also pointed out what should they do from now on …. But I left out the most important factor … The one factor , to which I dare not give any advice …. “The Media” … According to them all the Sri Lankan players are “Ravanas” … Dilshan is ” Aastin ka Saanp” … According to them ,what Malinga did to Tendulkar at Cuttack was also deliberate … They think that it was wrong on Sri Lankan Board’s part to give such a lenient punishment …. They think that it’s all a part of very well fabricated master plan against Indians … They think , they think and they think … That’s all they do … Well can’t hope to find any rationality in there thinking … neither am I going to make any efforts for the same … Just two words for them … “You Rock” ….  ;)

The tides are changing . Its been long time since few powerful countries like USA and Russia decided the world order . Its high time that the elephant and the dragon enter the scene now and play a major role in reshaping the world . The way this elephant ( India ) and the dragon ( China ) is developing now , it is only a matter of time before it emerges as a world power and will be an important factor in deciding the new outlook of the world .

According to a survey by Australian Government , this is the graph of how the shares of Australian exports have fared in India , China and other North Asian countries from 1993-2003 . While the graph declined in North Asia , it showed a significant increase in China and India , which is the place where the entire world market has its gaze fixed upon .

Though China appears to be a step ahead of India , still India’s track record of inclusive growth looks better than that of China’s , the credit of which goes to India being a democratic . ”" The Elephant and the Dragon : The Rise of India and China and what it meant for all of us “” by Robyn Meredith is essentially a guide which helps you to understand how India and China are reshaping the world. It also highlights the fact that how unlike China , India has not turned a blind eye towards the marginal section of the society .

China’s focus is all set on development right now , which is coming at a high cost of human welfare .  In the name of development, communist China displaced millions of peasants and deprived them of their livelihood . We are lucky to be living in a democratic India rather than a communist China , where atleast the people are not deprived of their rights in the name of development .

Robyn Meredith further points out the fact that how China is converting itself into a commercial juggernaut that is inspiring a feeling of fear accompanied with envy in hearts of workers and CEO’s worldwide and how it is an active participant in contributing to environmental pollution . On the other hand , India is seen to conquer the back office work of the world , since the number of students that graduate from India universities are far more compared to other nations .

China and India are the places to watch . World market is expanding and so is India and China’s economy . Its all set to take up the power to shape the new world order .
